The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development has announced multiple recruitment opportunities for qualified Sri Lankan citizens under several major development and infrastructure projects.
The Ministry’s official recruitment portal currently lists vacancies connected with road development, expressway, railway, urban regeneration and multimodal transport projects. Eligible Government and Semi-Government officers are also permitted to apply for a number of these recruitments, subject to the conditions of the respective advertisements.

💰 Salary & Service Conditions
Several of the Ministry’s 2026 project recruitments are governed by the provisions of Management Services Circular No. 02/2026, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development on 28 March 2026.
Salary categories, allowances and other conditions depend on the position and project concerned.
👤 Age Requirements
Age limits may differ between advertisements and categories of applicants.
For example, one official Ministry project advertisement applying Management Services Circular No. 02/2026 specifies an age limit of below 60 years for Government/Semi-Government officers and below 64 years for other applicants. This should not be assumed to apply to every vacancy, so applicants must check the advertisement relevant to their chosen position.
