Department of Meteorology Technical Officer Examination Amendment 2026

The Department of Meteorology has issued an amendment to the written examination structure of the Limited Competitive Examination for recruitment to the post of Telecommunication and Radar Technical Officer (Grade III / Training Grade) of the Sri Lanka Technological Service – 2026.
This amendment applies to the original recruitment notice published in Gazette No. 2494 dated 10 July 2026 under reference 07-196/2.
This is not a new call for applications. The notice is intended for candidates who have already applied for the examination.

Amended Written Examination Structure
According to the amendment, the written examination will consist of the following two question papers:
Paper 01 – Mathematics Basic Knowledge
The first paper will assess the candidate’s basic knowledge of Mathematics.

- Total Marks: 100
- Minimum Pass Mark: 40
Paper 02 – Post-Related Basic Knowledge
The second paper will assess the basic knowledge relevant to the post of Telecommunication and Radar Technical Officer.
- Duration: 02 Hours
- Total Marks: 100
- Minimum Pass Mark: 40
- Type: Essay-style question paper
- Number of Questions Provided: 07
- Questions to be Answered: 05
- Marks per Question: 20
- Total: 20 × 5 = 100 Marks
