Purpose of the Position

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the SriLankan Group’s data privacy and information security compliance programmes.

The role involves ensuring that appropriate policies, procedures, systems and controls are implemented to demonstrate compliance with relevant international standards and regulatory requirements, including:

European Union General Data Protection Regulation
ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security Management System
Other applicable information security, privacy and legislative requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess one of the following qualification and experience combinations:

Option 1

A master’s degree or relevant membership from a recognized professional body.
A bachelor’s degree.
Six years of post-qualifying overall work experience.
Three years of managerial experience.
Three years of executive-level experience.

Option 2

A full professional qualification.
Relevant membership from a professional body.
Six years of overall experience in a relevant discipline.
Three years of managerial-level experience.
Three years of executive-level experience.

Other Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
The upper age limit is 45 years as of 18 September 2026.
Employment will be offered on a fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be expected to:

Oversee matters relating to personal-data protection and information security concerning passengers, customers, employees, service providers and other relevant parties.
Maintain confidentiality while carrying out assigned data-protection responsibilities.
Manage responsibilities relating to GDPR and ISO/IEC 27001 information-security policies.
Develop awareness and training programmes to promote a data-privacy and information-security culture.
Continuously improve the Group’s information-security and data-privacy practices.
Serve as a contact point and cooperate with relevant data-protection authorities.
Supervise and advise on responses to requests made by data subjects.
Provide strategic direction and regular updates to the Board of Directors, senior management and other relevant business units.
Establish, implement, monitor and maintain information-security and data-privacy management systems.
Manage and supervise security reviews, vulnerability audits and penetration assessments.
Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments for relevant applications and services.
Develop and maintain IT security and data-privacy policies, procedures and controls.
Support disaster recovery and business-continuity management activities.
Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies and other interested parties.
Represent the SriLankan Group on relevant cybersecurity and regulatory committees.
