Chief Internal Auditor Vacancy 2026
Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the permanent position of Chief Internal Auditor, Grade A-2.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess all the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant or related field recognized by the University Grants Commission.
And
- A full professional qualification from ICASL, ACCA or CIMA.
And
- A minimum of 12 years of post-qualifying, unblemished experience in Accountancy, Financial Management or Auditing at a government or semi-government institution or a reputed commercial establishment.
And
- A Master’s Degree of at least SLQF Level 9 in Management, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
Age Limit
Applicants should be below 45 years of age.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a risk-based internal audit plan.
- Conducting and supervising financial, operational, compliance, systems and value-for-money audits.
- Reviewing internal controls, risk-management processes and governance practices.
- Assessing compliance with laws, regulations, government circulars, Treasury guidelines and internal policies.
- Supervising SAP ERP and information-systems audits.
- Identifying operational risks, control weaknesses and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Preparing detailed audit reports and monitoring corrective actions.
- Organizing Audit Committee meetings and serving as Secretary to the Audit Committee.
- Conducting special audits, investigations and reviews.
- Supervising, guiding and developing Internal Audit employees.
- Liaising with senior management, external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Salary and Benefits
The applicable salary scale is:
Rs. 260,000 – 5 × 3,955 : 10 × 4,745 – Rs. 327,225
Additional benefits include:

- Employer EPF contribution of 15%.
- Employer ETF contribution of 3%.
The employee must contribute 10% of the salary towards EPF.
Probation Period
The selected candidate will be placed on probation for three years from the date of assuming duties.
