The Open University of Sri Lanka has invited online applications for the Advanced Certificate in Social Sciences programme for the 2026/27 academic year.

Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:
- Completed junior secondary education at Grade 9 level or an equivalent qualification;
OR
- Completed primary education at Grade 5 level, together with certified work experience equivalent to a minimum period of two years;
OR
- An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
The current advertisement also states that applicants should be 16 years of age or above. However, applicants are advised to confirm the applicable age requirement with the university before submitting an application.
Programme Benefits
Students who successfully complete this programme may proceed to the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences.
The qualification can also serve as an entry qualification to sit for the selection tests for the LL.B. and Management degree programmes offered by the relevant faculty, subject to the applicable admission conditions.
Application Fee
The online application fee is Rs. 500.
Payment can be made:
- Online using a debit or credit card with online payment facilities; or
- In cash through the nearest OUSL Regional or Study Centre.
