OUSL MA in Development Studies and Public Policy 2026/27 – Apply Online

The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) is now accepting applications for the Master of Arts in Development Studies and Public Policy programme for the 2026/27 academic year.

This postgraduate programme is offered by OUSL in collaboration with the Marga Institute. It is designed for graduates and professionals seeking advanced knowledge in development studies, public policy, planning, administration and the implementation of development projects.

Admission Requirements

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

  • A degree from a recognized university with at least one year of work experience, preferably in planning, administration or the implementation of development projects;

OR

  • An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the Open University of Sri Lanka, together with at least one year of relevant work experience.

Applicants may be required to attend a selection interview conducted by the Department of Social Studies.

Programme Structure

The programme includes regular courses, continuing education components and a research component. The subject areas include Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Communication, History, English Language and information technology-related skills.
