Programme Overview

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, invites applications for the 2027 intake of the Master of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence programme.

This SLQF Level 9 postgraduate degree is designed for practising professionals with an engineering or science background who wish to develop advanced technical knowledge in data science and artificial intelligence.

The programme is conducted on a part-time basis over one year and follows a fully coursework-based curriculum.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

A Bachelor of the Science of Engineering degree from the University of Moratuwa in a relevant field approved by the University Senate.

Option 2

A four-year degree in Engineering, Science or Technology from a recognized university in a relevant field approved by the University Senate.

Option 3

A three-year degree in Engineering, Science or Technology from a recognized university in a relevant field, subject to successful performance in an aptitude test and approval by the University Senate.

Option 4

A recognized category of membership obtained through an academic route from a recognized professional institute, subject to approval by the University Senate.

Selection Process

Qualified applicants will be informed of their eligibility and invited to participate in:

A selection test
A subsequent interview

The selection process will be conducted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

Duration and Commencement

The programme will be conducted on a part-time basis over one year.

The 2027 postgraduate programmes of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering are scheduled to commence on 02 January 2027.
