Wayamba University of Sri Lanka has invited applications for the 7th intake of the BSc Food Quality Management (External) Degree Programme conducted by the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition.
This three-year external degree programme is scheduled to commence in January 2027 and will be delivered in English through open and distance learning.

Admission Requirements
Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification requirements.
GCE Advanced Level Qualification
Applicants should have passed the GCE Advanced Level Examination in either the Science Stream or Technology Stream in one sitting.
They should also possess a minimum of two years of post-qualifying experience in the food industry.
Professional or Diploma Qualifications
Applicants possessing one of the following qualifications may also apply:
- Higher National Diploma in Food Technology (HNDFT)
- Diploma in Food Quality Management
- Diploma in Food Quality Management offered by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution
- Higher Diploma in Public Health Inspectors
- Diploma in Public Health Inspectors offered by the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka
Qualifications not listed above may also be considered if recommended by the relevant Board of Study and accepted by the Senate of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
Selection Process
Applicants who fulfil the admission requirements will be invited to an aptitude test conducted in English.
The aptitude test will assess basic knowledge in Food Science and Technology.
Candidates obtaining a minimum of 40% in the aptitude test will be invited to an interview. Final selection will be based on successful completion of both evaluations.
Programme Duration and Study Method
The programme covers three academic years from 2027 to 2029.
The medium of instruction is English, and the programme will be delivered through open and distance learning. Printed learning materials will also be provided.
Course Fee
The total course fee is Rs. 530,000 for the three-year programme.
The payment arrangement is as follows:
- Rs. 80,000 at registration
- Remaining balance payable in five instalments

Applicants should submit the completed application together with certified copies of documents proving their educational qualifications.
Applicants applying based on employment or professional experience should also attach:
- Letter of appointment
- Copy of a salary slip containing the EPF/ETF number
- Other relevant supporting documents
- Application-fee payment slip
