The Ministry of Environment has invited applications to fill 11 vacancies for the post of Field Assistant (Supervisory) in the Primary Non-Technical Service Category of the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resources Management Department.

Who Can Apply?
This recruitment is limited to officers of the Coast Conservation and Coastal Resources Management Department.
Applicants must have completed 10 years of permanent, active and satisfactory service in the post of Field Assistant within the Department’s Primary Non-Technical Service Category.
Members of the general public are not eligible to apply.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants should have passed six subjects with two distinctions at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings.
Experience Requirement
Candidates must have completed at least 10 years of permanent, active and satisfactory service in the post of Field Assistant in the Department.
Other Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka
- Be capable of performing the duties attached to the position
- Possess an excellent character
- Have earned the applicable salary increments
- Have demonstrated satisfactory or above-average performance during the preceding five years
- Have fulfilled all required qualifications by the closing date
No age limit applies to this internal recruitment.
Salary Scale
The monthly salary scale applicable to the post is:
Rs. 40,000 – 10×450 – 10×490 – 10×540 – 12×590 – Rs. 61,880

This salary scale is specified under Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025 dated 25 March 2025.
Nature of Appointment
The appointment is permanent and pensionable, subject to future government policy decisions concerning the pension scheme.
Selected officers will be subject to an acting period of one year.
They must pass the First Efficiency Bar Examination within three years of appointment and should be prepared to serve in any part of the island.
Selection Method
Selection will be based on the marks obtained at a structured interview.
Applicants must obtain a minimum of 55 marks out of 100 to qualify for appointment.
Marks will be allocated as follows:
- Service experience – 40 marks
- Experience at coastal conservation worksites – 15 marks
- Knowledge of machines, equipment and heavy vehicles – 10 marks
- Knowledge of machinery maintenance and operation – 10 marks
- Ability to accept responsibility in coastal conservation activities – 20 marks
- Personality – 5 marks
