The National Science and Technology Commission (NASTEC), functioning under the Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Management Assistant (MA 1-2) on a contract basis.

Qualifications for External Candidates
Applicants must possess both of the following qualifications:
- Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects at one sitting, with credit passes in four subjects, including:
- Sinhala or Tamil
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Passed three subjects, excluding the General Paper, at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Employees belonging to the Primary Level-Skilled or Primary Level-Unskilled categories may apply if they possess the following qualifications:
- Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with credit passes in four subjects, including Sinhala or Tamil, English Language and Mathematics.
- Completed at least five years of satisfactory service in a permanent post under the relevant employee category.
Age Limit
Applicants must be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age.
The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Salary and Allowances
The applicable salary scale is:
MA 1-2-2025: Rs. 46,220 – 10×540 – 7×630 – 12×1,080 – 12×1,280 – Rs. 84,350
The selected candidates will also receive other government-approved allowances.
The advertisement states the following EPF and ETF contribution rates:
- Institutional EPF contribution: 12%
- Employee EPF contribution: 8%
- Institutional ETF contribution: 3%
Selection Procedure
Recruitment will be based on the results of a written competitive examination and/or a structured interview conducted by a panel appointed by the relevant appointing authority.
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for interviews.
