Temporary Demonstrator Vacancies at OUSL
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Technology of the Open University of Sri Lanka, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Temporary Demonstrator positions at the Nawala Campus and Kandy Regional Center.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants should possess a four-year bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized university in one of the following fields:
- Computer Engineering
- Electronic and Communication Engineering
Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and possess good oral and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Preference may be given to applicants with knowledge in the following areas:
- Data Structures and Algorithms
- Object-Oriented Designing
- Java programming
- Data Communication and Networking
- Electronics and Telecommunications
- Network and Systems Engineering
Main Duties
Selected candidates may be required to undertake the following duties:
- Conduct laboratory practical demonstrations
- Mark laboratory reports
- Mark assignments when required
- Assist with examination invigilation
- Perform other relevant academic support duties assigned by the department
Appointment and Remuneration
The initial appointment will be for six months. It may be extended for a maximum period of two years based on satisfactory performance.
The position carries a fixed monthly allowance of Rs. 68,145, together with a Cost of Living Allowance of Rs. 17,800. Applicable statutory deductions and contributions will be handled according to the conditions stated in the official notice.
Selection Interview
Details of the interview will be communicated to eligible applicants by email. The university reserves the right to shortlist candidates, and only shortlisted applicants will be invited for the interview.
