Educational Qualifications
Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects at one sitting, including credit passes in:
- Sinhala Language or Tamil Language
- English Language or English Literature
- Mathematics
Applicants must also have passed all subjects at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, excluding the Common General Paper, in one sitting.
In addition to these qualifications, applicants must possess one of the following:
- National Certificate for Accounting Technician awarded by a Sri Lanka Technical College or College of Technology under the relevant Ministry
- Another equivalent qualification obtained from a recognized institution
- G.C.E. Advanced Level qualification in the Commerce Stream
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Preference will be given to applicants who possess both of the following:
- A recognized computer applications qualification of at least six months’ duration
- Two years of experience using computer application packages
General Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of Sri Lanka
- Be not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years of age on the closing date
- Possess a good character
Salary and Allowances
The applicable salary code is U-MN 1 (III).
The monthly salary scale is:
Rs. 49,475 – 17 × Rs. 540 – Rs. 58,655
Other Government-approved allowances will also be paid.
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through a written examination and an interview.
Written Examination – 75%
The written examination will cover:
- Knowledge of Sinhala or Tamil and English
- Intelligence quotient and general knowledge
- Computer literacy
- Relevant subject knowledge
Interview – 25%
Candidates who satisfy the required standards will be considered at the interview stage.
Employee Benefits
The appointment is subject to the applicable university-sector provident fund, pension and employee trust fund provisions.
- Employee contribution to the Universities Provident Fund: 10%
- Employer contribution to the Universities Provident Fund: 7%
- Employer contribution to the Pension Fund: 8%, subject to eligibility
- Employer contribution to the Employees’ Trust Fund: 3%
- Gratuity will be paid according to the Payment of Gratuity Act No. 12 of 1983
