Who Can Apply?
Applications are accepted only from employees who:
- Are currently in permanent service in the University System, University Grants Commission or another Higher Educational Institution.
- Have been confirmed in their substantive posts.
- Meet one of the prescribed qualification routes for the position.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification routes.
Qualification Route 01
The applicant should:
- Be a confirmed employee in Primary Level Semi-Skilled – U-PL 2 or Primary Level Un-Skilled – U-PL 1.
- Possess a proficiency certificate not below National Vocational Qualification Level 4.
- Have obtained the qualification from a technical or vocational training institution accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
- Possess a qualification relevant to the functions of the Mechanic position.
Qualification Route 02
The applicant should:
- Be a confirmed employee in Primary Level Semi-Skilled – U-PL 2 or Primary Level Un-Skilled – U-PL 1.
- Have completed a minimum of five years of working experience in the relevant field.
- Possess skills not below National Vocational Qualification Level 2, proven through a trade test.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of Sri Lanka.
- Be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Be prepared to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- Possess excellent moral character.
Salary Scale
The applicable salary scale is:
UPL 3 (III) – Rs. 48,005 – 16×490 – Rs. 55,845 per month
Salary placement will be determined according to the applicable provisions of the Establishment Code of the University Grants Commission and Higher Educational Institutions – 2023.
Selection Method
Eligible applicants will be selected through:
- A trade test
- An interview
Application Requirements
Applicants must complete the prescribed application form and attach certified copies of all relevant certificates relating to:
- Educational qualifications
- Professional qualifications
- Extracurricular qualifications applicable to the position
All copies of certificates must be certified by the relevant Head of Department.
