Applications are invited for the following academic positions:

1. Lecturer (Probationary)

Applicants may qualify through one of the educational routes specified in the advertisement.

These include a B.Sc. Honours Degree with specialization in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or Chemistry, with the applicable class requirements.

The advertisement also provides alternative eligibility routes involving specified undergraduate qualifications together with a Doctoral Degree with a research component or a Master Degree involving at least 24 months of full-time research in the relevant field.

Candidates qualifying under the higher-priority category will be interviewed and evaluated first.

All candidates considered for Lecturer (Probationary) are required to make a presentation before the Selection Committee to demonstrate their teaching ability.

2. Lecturer (Unconfirmed)

Candidates should possess the academic qualifications required for Lecturer (Probationary).

In addition, applicants should possess either:

A Doctoral Degree with a research component specialized in the relevant field; or
A Master Degree in the relevant field with at least 24 months of full-time research.

Applicants should also have less than six years of experience in one or more specified areas, including university-level teaching, professional experience, research in a recognized institution or postgraduate studies undertaken to acquire the required qualification.

3. Senior Lecturer Grade II

Applicants should possess the academic qualifications required for Lecturer (Probationary) together with either:

A Doctoral Degree with a research component specialized in the relevant field; or
A Master Degree in the relevant field involving at least 24 months of full-time research.

Applicants should have at least six years of experience in one or more of the following:

Teaching at university level
Professional experience
Research in a recognized institution
Postgraduate studies undertaken to acquire the required postgraduate qualifications

4. Senior Lecturer Grade I

Candidates should possess the academic qualifications required for Lecturer (Probationary), together with:

A Doctoral Degree in the relevant field; or
A Master Degree in the relevant field with at least 24 months of full-time research.

Applicants should also possess at least 12 years of relevant experience, of which not less than six years should have been obtained after acquiring the specified postgraduate qualification.

🏖️ Sabbatical Leave

Holders of the posts of Senior Lecturer Grade II and above are eligible for:

One year of sabbatical leave with full pay or two years of leave without pay, upon completion of seven years of service.

Those proceeding abroad on sabbatical leave are eligible to receive full passage for themselves and their spouse, subject to a maximum value of Rs. 750,000.

💼 Benefits

The appointee will contribute 10% of the monthly salary to the Universities Provident Fund.

The University will contribute:

8% – University Pension Scheme
7% – University Provident Fund
3% – Employees Trust Fund
