SLES Grade III Electrical Interview 2026 – Second Stage Candidate List and Interview Details

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, through its Engineering Services Division, has issued an official notice regarding the second-stage interviews for recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service (SLES), Electrical Category, under the Open Recruitment 2024.

The notice includes a list of nine candidates selected for the interview based on the results of the written competitive examination.

The interview will be held on 22 October 2026 at 8:30 AM in Colombo 07.

Important: This is an interview notification for previously selected candidates, not a new call for job applications.

1. About the Interview Notice

The Engineering Services Division has published an additional list of candidates eligible to attend the interview for recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service in the Electrical Category.

This notice follows the earlier interview announcement dated 28 May 2025.

The candidates have been selected for interview consideration based on their written competitive examination results.

The Ministry confirms that official interview invitation letters have already been sent by email.

4. Documents Required for the Interview

Candidates must bring the original documents specified in the official interview letter.

A. General Documents

  1. Official interview invitation letter.
  2. B.Sc. Engineering Degree Certificate or the recognised equivalent qualification certificate.
  3. Academic transcript.
  4. G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination result sheet.
  5. Birth certificate.
  6. National Identity Card, valid passport or valid driving licence.
  7. Required self-attested photocopies of the above documents.
  8. Where applicable, a UGC recognition letter for a degree obtained from an institution other than a Sri Lankan state university.
  9. Letter from the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), confirming Associate or Chartered membership and continuity for 2025 and 2026.
  10. Proof of valid registration for 2025 and 2026 with the Engineers’ Council of Sri Lanka under the relevant category.
  11. Residence and character certificate issued by the Grama Niladhari using Form DS 04.
  12. A properly certified affidavit if there are differences between the applicant’s name on identification and other certificates.

B. Photocopy Requirements

The official letter specifies:

  • One set of self-attested photocopies of the birth certificate and identification document.
  • Two sets of self-attested photocopies of the degree certificate, academic transcript and O/L result sheet.

All photocopies must be on A4-size paper.

C. Additional Documents for Public or Provincial Public Service Officers

Candidates already serving in the public or provincial public service must also bring:

  1. Appointment or absorption letter.
  2. Letter confirming appointment.
  3. Original letter from the Head of Department confirming the absence of disciplinary action during the preceding five years and that no disciplinary action is contemplated.
  4. Salary increment papers and performance evaluation reports covering 2020–2026.

The required photocopies must be certified by the Head of Institution as specified in the official letter.

5. Interview and Selection Procedure

The interview is conducted strictly to verify the qualifications of candidates.

No marks will be awarded at the interview.

Final recruitment decisions will consider the candidates’ written competitive examination marks and the applicable eligibility requirements.

The Public Service Commission will determine the number of appointments and their effective dates.

Attending the interview does not guarantee an appointment.

6. Important Instructions

  • Attend the interview on 22 October 2026 at 8:30 AM.
  • Bring all required original documents and specified photocopies.
  • No alternative interview date will be provided for candidates who fail to attend.
  • Travelling expenses and other allowances will not be paid for attending.
  • Candidates should check their email for the official interview invitation.
  • Candidates must satisfy the applicable Sri Lanka Engineering Service recruitment requirements.
