1. About the MBA in Information Technology
The MBA in Information Technology combines the core principles of a general Master of Business Administration programme with specialised knowledge relevant to the information technology sector.
The programme aims to develop leadership, management and business process skills alongside the technical and analytical capabilities of IT professionals.
It is designed for individuals seeking to develop their careers as IT managers and business executives in Sri Lanka’s expanding IT industry and public-sector organisations.
2. Key Areas of Specialisation
The programme focuses on four major areas:
AI for Business
Exploring the role of artificial intelligence in business environments and management decision-making.

3. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must satisfy one of the following eligibility pathways.
Option 1 – University of Moratuwa Honours Degree
An Honours Bachelor’s degree from the University of Moratuwa and a minimum of one year of experience.
Option 2 – Recognised Four-Year Degree
Any other four-year degree from a recognised university and a minimum of one year of experience, as may be approved by the University Senate.
Option 3 – Recognised Three-Year Degree
Any other three-year degree from a recognised university and a minimum of two years of experience, as may be approved by the University Senate.
Option 4 – Professional Institute Membership
Any recognised category of membership of a recognised professional institute, obtained through an academic route, together with a minimum of two years of experience, as may be approved by the University Senate.
4. Selection Procedure
All qualified applicants will be notified of their eligibility.
Eligible applicants will then be invited to participate in:

- Subsequent Interview
The selection process will be conducted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa.
