3. Assistant Engineer – Mechanical Workshop
Qualifications for External Candidates
Applicants must fulfil one of the following five qualification routes:
Option 1
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, recognised by the UGC.
OR
Option 2
Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
OR
Option 3
A relevant NVQ Level 7 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Civil Engineering, issued by a technical/vocational training institution accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
OR
Option 4
A relevant NVQ Level 6 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Civil Engineering from an accepted technical/vocational training institution.
AND
At least five years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board, Institution or reputed private institution.
OR
Option 5
A relevant NVQ Level 5 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Civil Engineering from an accepted technical/vocational training institution.
AND
At least ten years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field in a Corporation, Statutory Board, Institution or reputed private institution.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Internal candidates must fulfil one of the following:
- Possess the qualifications required of external candidates.
OR
- Have completed a minimum of five years of satisfactory service in a relevant Management Assistant – Technological (MA 2-2) Grade III position at SLITA.
Age Limit
22–45 years.
The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

Salary Scale: JM 1-2 – 2025

4. Management Assistant – Grade III
Qualifications for External Candidates
Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in four subjects, including:
- Sinhala or Tamil Language
- English Language
- Mathematics
AND
Applicants must have passed three subjects at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, excluding the Common General Paper.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with four credit passes, including:
- Sinhala or Tamil Language
- English Language
- Mathematics
AND
Have completed a minimum of five years of service in a permanent post under the specified employee category at SLITA.

18–45 years.

5. Driver Cum Office Aide – Grade III
Qualifications for External Candidates
Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:
- Have passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination, including at least two credit passes, in a maximum of two sittings.
- Possess a driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.
- Have at least three years of driving experience after obtaining the driving licence.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Internal candidates must possess:
- The required driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.
- At least three years of driving experience after obtaining the driving licence.
AND
- A minimum of five years of satisfactory service in a Primary Level Unskilled (PL-1) post at SLITA.
