2. Assistant Director (Accreditation) – 05 Posts
Qualifications – External Candidates
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences or Engineering recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
AND
- A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience in accreditation, conformity assessment, systems auditing or related activities in the public service, a corporation, statutory board/institution or reputed private institution.
Qualifications – Internal Candidates
Applicants must satisfy either:
- The qualifications required of external candidates; or
- At least five years of satisfactory service in a Junior Manager (JM 1-1) category post in the relevant subject area.
Age Limit
22–45 Years
The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Salary Scale
MM 1-1 – 2025: Rs. 91,690 – Rs. 168,240 per month
Approved government allowances and applicable employee benefits are provided.
3. Assistant Director (Finance) – 01 Post
Qualifications – External Candidates
Applicants must satisfy one of the following pathways:
Option 1 – Degree and Experience
A UGC-recognised Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Finance
- Accountancy
- Financial Management
- Business Administration
- Business Management
- Commerce
AND
A minimum of one year of relevant post-qualification experience.
OR
Option 2 – Professional Qualification and Experience
Passing the Intermediate Examination of a recognised professional Chartered Institute relevant to the post, together with a minimum of one year of relevant post-qualification experience.
Qualifications – Internal Candidates
Applicants must satisfy either:
- The external candidate qualifications; or
- At least five years of satisfactory service in a Junior Manager (JM) category post in the relevant subject area.

4. Management Assistant (Non-Technological) – 01 Post
Qualifications – External Candidates
Applicants must possess all of the following:
G.C.E. Ordinary Level
Six passes in one sitting, including four credit passes, with credits in:
- Sinhala or Tamil
- English Language
- Mathematics
G.C.E. Advanced Level
Passes in three subjects, excluding the General Paper, in one sitting from the following streams:
- Science
- Mathematics
- Technology
- Commerce
Computer Qualification
A six-month Certificate Course in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
Qualifications – Internal Candidates
Eligible employees in the Primary Level Skilled, Semi-skilled or Unskilled categories must possess:
- Six O/L passes, including four credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil, English and Mathematics.
- At least five years of satisfactory service in a permanent post in the specified employee categories.
- A six-month Certificate Course in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
Age Limit
18–45 Years
The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Salary Scale
MA 1-2 – 2025: Rs. 46,220 – Rs. 84,350 per month
Approved government allowances and applicable employee benefits are provided.
5. Salary, Allowances and Benefits
The advertisement specifies:
- Government-approved allowances.
- Employer contribution to EPF at 15%.
- ETF contribution at 3%.
- Agrahara medical insurance.
Important Salary Note: Until 01 January 2027, remuneration for recruitments and promotions must follow Schedule II of MSD Circular No. 01/2025. Therefore, the published salary scales should not be interpreted as guaranteed immediate starting payments.
6. General Eligibility Requirements

7. Recruitment Procedure
Recruitment will be conducted through:
A written competitive examination and/or a structured interview
The selection process will be conducted by a panel appointed by the Governing Council of SLAB.
