Educational Qualifications
Applicants should have passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in one sitting.
The results must include credit passes in:
- Sinhala, Tamil or English Language
- Mathematics
- Two other subjects
Applicants should also have passed at least one subject at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, excluding the General Test.
Required Experience
Applicants must possess at least one year of experience in:
- Hostel management and maintenance
- Food supply activities
- Maintaining related accounts and records
The experience should have been obtained at a government institution, corporation, government-recognized hotel, school hostel or guest house.
A certificate confirming the relevant experience must be submitted.
Other Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of Sri Lanka
- Possess good character
- Be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties
- Have completed all required qualifications by the closing date
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age as at 28 September 2026
Eligible applicants should have been born on or before 28 September 2008 and on or after 28 September 1996.
Salary and Service Conditions
The applicable monthly salary scale is:
Rs. 45,230 – 10 × 540 – 11 × 630 – 10 × 890 – 10 × 1,190 – Rs. 78,360
The salary code is MN-1-2025.
The full salary scale will become effective from 01 January 2027. Until then, salary payments will be made according to Schedule III of Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025.
The appointment is permanent and pensionable. The selected candidate will be subject to a probationary period of three years.
Competitive Examination
The examination will be conducted in Kandy in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Applicants must answer all examination papers in the language selected in their application. The selected examination medium cannot be changed later.
The examination consists of:
Intelligence Test
- Duration: 1½ hours
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Pass Mark: 40%
Subject Knowledge and Aptitude Test
- Duration: 1½ hours
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Pass Mark: 40%
Candidates must obtain at least 40% for each paper. Candidates who pass both papers will be ranked according to their total marks.
Up to five times the number of available vacancies may be called for the structured interview. The candidate with the highest aggregate marks will be selected.
Examination Fee
A non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 1,000 must be paid by postal money order.
The money order should be:
- Payable to the Director General of Export Agriculture
- Cashable at the Peradeniya Post Office
The original money order must be securely attached to the application.

- Prepare the application in the selected examination language
- Attach certified copies of the required educational and experience certificates
