Eligibility
Applications are accepted from suitable members of the academic staff of Eastern University, Sri Lanka who hold the position of Senior Lecturer Grade II or a higher academic position.
Applicants should possess knowledge and previous experience relating to international affairs, including:
- Academic collaboration and link programmes with foreign universities
- Preparation and signing of agreements
- Preparation and signing of Memoranda of Understanding
- International university partnerships and related activities
The applicant should not currently be assigned to another academic administrative position at Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
Tenure
This is a part-time assignment for a maximum period of three years.
Main Functions
The selected Coordinator will be expected to perform the following functions:
- Initiate and facilitate Memoranda of Understanding and agreements with higher educational institutions worldwide
- Promote and coordinate exchanges involving international research scholars and students
- Facilitate short-term and elective courses for international scholars and students
- Maintain correspondence and monitor the University’s international relations
- Promote interdisciplinary research collaboration between Eastern University and overseas universities and institutions
- Assist in securing international grants and consultations for research activities
- Establish partnerships with foreign universities for projects and project proposal writing
- Develop and maintain databases covering the University’s research and international activities
- Facilitate international research conferences, training programmes, workshops and seminars
